Ceramic Artist Mary Kirk Kelly of Fairhope, Alabama, produces these amazing porcelain vegetables & fruits. Both her artistry and painstaking attention to detail are obvious. Each is made by hand from earthenware or porcelain clay in liquid form (slip). Ms. Kelly hand sculpts the greenware, then paints it before bisque firing. After firing, she brushes or sponges metallic oxide colorants to capture the realism so highly prized by collectors. Each piece is signed by Ms. Kelly. They range in size from 3" to 6." Generally her work sells in the $175.00 to $300.00 range (per piece), depending on the intricacy of the design. Her larger vegetables sell for 800.00-$2300.00! These look beautiful in a curio, on a windowsill, etc. . People WILL try to eat them, however. I would prefer to sell the entire group together. I have set a reasonable reserve and hope that I can sell this as a lot rather than break up the set. The pieces are as follows: Asparagus Cucumber Yellow squash mushroom carrot red pepper artichoke onion yellow banana pepper pea.....corn... All are perfect! No chips, flea bites, scratches, fading, etc. Please note my 100% eBay rating...you will not be disappointed! Thanks for looking and bidding!
